Hyundai took advantage of the autoMobility show in Los Angeles to unveil the North American version of the 2024 Santa Fe.
The design of the Korean SUV has been completely revamped for this 5th generation with a square and robust look. The 2024 Santa Fe offers 7 seats and comes with hybrid engine as standard. The model promises a lot and is likely to be quite popular upon its arrival in the market.
Starting from a blank page
Hyundai is one of the few manufacturers willing to take the risk of starting from scratch when it comes to a new generation for a model. The 2024 Santa Fe bears no resemblance to the 2023 model. Even though this approach may seem reckless, the Korean manufacturer has proven its effectiveness time and again over the years. Every new Santa Fe has been successful, and nothing less is expected from this 5th generation.
The design of the Korean manufacturer's SUV is characterized by straight lines and geometric shapes. It's clearly a departure from the past, and I must say I quite like it. The Santa Fe features an imposing and modern front face. Moreover, it now boasts new headlights with an H-shaped illumination, completing the model's new aesthetic signature.
Upon its arrival in Canada, the Santa Fe 2024 will be available in 7 colors: Phantom Black, Pearl Serenity White, Earthy Brass Matte, Hampton Gray, Terracotta Orange, Atlantis Blue, and Pearl Rockwood Green.
A more spacious interior
The Hyundai Santa Fe 2024 benefits from a longer wheelbase than its predecessor, allowing it to offer a third row of seats as standard. The dashboard of the new Santa Fe displays a design that blends modernity with retro elements, which is quite appealing. Unsurprisingly, the dashboard and multimedia system are now projected onto a massive curved screen. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are standard. Hyundai has also put a lot of effort into the rear of the Santa Fe, providing a wider hatch opening than ever, thereby increasing the model's versatility and capabilities.
The Hyundai Santa Fe 2024 is at the forefront of technology and even offers new exclusive gadgets such as the UV-C sterilization compartment. This feature allows you to simply disinfect your phone with UV rays. Additionally, the Santa Fe also offers wireless charging for two devices.
There are 3 interior color options available: Obsidian Black, Pecan Brown, and Forest Green.
Standard hybrid
As always, the brand has made excellent choices in terms of mechanics for its Santa Fe, which now comes standard as a hybrid. It is powered by a combination of a 1.6-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder engine and an electric motor, resulting in a power output of 232 horsepower and 271 pound-feet of torque. This powertrain is paired with a 6-speed automatic transmission. A 2.5-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder engine is also available with 277 horsepower and 311 pound-feet of torque, paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission. In both cases, all-wheel drive is standard.
The pricing range for the model should be unveiled in the coming weeks as it approaches its dealership release. Needless to say, this is a model that is highly anticipated.
